A second low pressure cell replaces the first. From "Alaska Weather" TV channel:

From: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?zoneid=PKZ172&mp=0
Synopsis...A 980 MB LOW 100 NM EAST OF SHEMYA WILL MOVE TO 250 NM EAST OF SHEMYA MON MORNING AND DISSIPATE BY MON AFTERNOON. A 976 MB LOW WILL DEVELOP ALONG A WEATHER FRONT MON AFTERNOON 100 NM WEST OF UNALASKA AND WEAKEN TO 983 MB 350 NM SOUTHEAST OF UNALASKA TUE AFTERNOON.

Update 2012-05-28 04:36 CEST: just got a note from Keirron, and all is well within the Islands of the Winds. Sounds like it's a very good thing they have a proper tent on this adventure!
